Thomas and Shyla

Thomas and Shyla were married Friday afternoon on top of the Rib Mountain Amphitheater. The rain held off as guests began to arrive and began to take in the beautiful views.

I thought back to 5 months earlier when Thomas reached out to me. Thomas was in the youth group I led at Woodlands Church and had graduated during the covid year. That year ended with somewhat of a winter since everything was virtual and there was no big send off for the seniors heading off into the world. To counter this me and my co leader had driven out to every kids house to drop off a present and wish them the best. It led us to a country house west of Stevens Point where Thomas lived. I didn't think I'd ever be back there with the way life moves at times. But...2 years later I was photographing his wedding and the reception was in that same backyard.

Atop Rib Mountain as Shyla his bride began to walk down the aisle.

The tears starting coming about 1 step down the aisle for Shyla, and who could blame her. It was a perfect day.

Shyla planned her entire wedding herself. I couldn't believe how beautiful of a job she did. The Reception was stunning with a Translucent tent from Party Envy and catering from Micheles in Stevens Point. Thomas and his father supplied some fireworks to cap off the evening.

All the best Thomas and Shyla!

Footnote.

The couple asked me before the wedding if they could get a picture later of them and their pup. I laughed because i said to them, "It's your wedding, you're paying me to show up and photograph it, of course you can have a photo with your dog." I think sometimes it's easy to lose track in the hustle and bustle of the wedding day that the primary job of mine is to serve my clients well. whether thats a dog photo, giving them peace by laying out a game plan for the photos/wedding, or just being kind so they are able to relax and enjoy the day while getting quality photos.

Venue was the Rib Mountain Amphitheater atop rib Mountain

The reception was the Umlauf house.
